Born August 26, 1945, in Lackey, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Chloe M. (Davidson) and Toy McKinley Fletcher and the last surviving child of ten. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Philip retired from Sprint after 37 years of service. After his retirement, he worked with the grounds crew at Deer Ridge Golf Course for 11 years, was a substitute bus driver for Bellville Schools, and a hearse driver for Buckeye Livery for several years. Always active, Philip taught physical fitness classes at the Mansfield YMCA for the Pulse classes. He was a member of Crossroads Church, formerly Ontario Christian Fellowship. He was a member of the Venus Masonic Lodge #152, F. & A.M. Philip volunteered at the Salvation Army.
Philip is survived by his wife of 55 years, Toni Lee Moore Fletcher, whom he married April 2, 1966; three sons, Tom (Beth Ann) Fletcher, Matt (Robyn) Fletcher and Jon (Jennipher) Fletcher; eight grandchildren, Brendon and Tyler Fletcher, Michael Parchen, Erika (Tyler) Myers, Emilee, Stephen (Zoe), Cole (Payton) and Bryce Fletcher; seven great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, David (Jerelyn) Moore; two sisters-in-law, Patricia and Marie Fletcher; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine siblings, Jack, Don (Pauline), and Gary Fletcher, Katherine (Vernon) McKim, Phyllis (Lars Erick) Sjoberg, Margene (Curt) Moore, Faye Davidson, and Raymond and Lowell (Alma) Fletcher.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service conducted by Walter Bodjanac will follow at 3:00 p.m. Military honors will be presented by the Bellville American Legion Post #535 Funeral Detail.
