Perry F. Tanner, age 71, passed away after a long battle with illness in his home to be with the Lord on April 13, 2018, surrounded by his family. Perry was born in Lodi, Ohio, on June 19, 1946, to Clifford and DonnaBell Tanner.
Perry married the love of his life, Patricia A. McClure on December 17, 1966. He retired after 35 years from Garbers (Caraustar). To keep busy, he delivered parts for Advance Auto. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. The highlight of his life was earning his GED and receiving his diploma in 2004.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia A. Tanner; three wonderful children, Ty Tanner (Kathy Bookman) of Ashland, Perry Jr. (Cheryl) Tanner of Ashland, and Teresa (Clinton) French of Loudonville; eight grandchildren, Jason, Miranda (Chris), Kody, Michael (Jessica), Brandon (Alyssa), Logan (Dana), Matthew (Molly) and A'Sheena (Eric); and five great-granddaughters, Alexis, Reagan, Layna, Karsyn and Makayla. Perry is also survived by four brothers, Jim (Linda) Tanner of Ashland and loving nephew, Jerry Tanner, Argle (Sandy) Tanner of Delaware, Roland (Nancy) Tanner of Smithville and Thomas Tanner of Parma.
Perry was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and DonnaBell Tanner and great-grandchild, Maddison French.
No service will be observed. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Pathways Hospice. Wappner Cremation Center is privileged to serve the family.
