Mary K. Rupe, 61, of Lexington died Monday morning, January 20, 2003 at MedCentral Mansfield after an extended illness. Mrs. Rupe was born January 17, 1942 in Bucyrus, Ohio to Miller Mansfield & Eva Brown Russell. She was a member of Springmill Church of God and VFW #9943. Mary enjoyed crafts and was a wonderful cook.
She is survived by her husband, Norman P. Rupe of Lexington; a son, Daniel C. Garland of Lexington, Ohio; two stepsons, David Rupe of Galion and Buddy Rupe of Wallawalla, Washington; a stepdaughter, Cindy Shipman of Galion; a daughter-in-law, Maurine Rupe of Shelby; five grandchildren, Gevan and Bretta Rupe, Wade and Spence Shipman and Niki R. Webster; a great-granddaughter, Taylor R. Webster; one brother and a sister-in-law, James & Virginia Russell of Sullivan, Ohio; two sisters, Garnet Williams of Galion and Virginia Fisher of Crestline; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-son, Paul Rupe; two sisters, Ruby Petty and Fran Hilson; and a brother, Charles Russell.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Dr. Bruce Philippi. Burial will follow at Crawford County Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association.
