Martha L. Frey

Martha L. Frey, 86, of Mansfield, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 28, 2018, at her home. She was born February 2, 1932, in Galion, Ohio, to the late William Henry and Anna Marie (Amann) Keckler.

She retired from the Madison School System where she worked in the cafeteria. She had previously worked as a cashier at Frizell's and Geyer's Market and at Dominion Electric. An awesome mom and grandma, she was dedicated to her family. Martha helped raise her grandchildren and showed them unconditional love and support. Blessed with a green thumb, she was an avid gardener of flowers, fruits and vegetables. Her family enjoyed the many items she lovingly canned for their table. She attended Hillside First Church of God.

Martha is survived by her husband, Grover Frey; two sisters, Grace McNair and Gertrude (Chuck) Quesenberry; three granddaughters, Sherry (Paul) Lesko, Kristie Perkins and Mistie Wray; and four step children, Cheryl, Deborah, Valedia and Allen. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her children, Larry and Richard Welker and Jean Askey; three brothers, David, John and Art; and four sisters, Betty, Ruth, Roseann, and Helen.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2018, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service conducted by Pastor Glenn Phillips will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
