Linda Lou Miley Thrush, 62, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at OSU Medical Center after a short battle with T-cell lymphoma leukemia. Born August 1, 1947 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of James W. and Mazell Shepherd Miley. She graduated Madison High School in 1965 and Mansfield Beauty College. Linda was a collector and loved to attend garage sales. She enjoyed decorating her home every holiday. Along with spending time with family, Linda enjoyed Kingwood Center herb gardening, making greeting cards, and cooking. Game nights with friends were especially memorable.
She is survived by her mother, Mazell Miley of Mansfield; son, James E. Thrush and special friend, Todd Williamson of Columbus; daughter, Jennifer E. Jason Johnson of Gray, Tennessee; granddaughter, Jessica Johnson of Gray, Tennessee; sisters, Carol Ken Bower of Bellville, and Brenda Miley-Sikola of Mansfield; brothers, James W. Beverly Miley of Mansfield, Calvin L. Miley of Friendswood, Texas, and Milton Miley of Mansfield; nieces, Crissy Derek Kellner, and Melissa, Miranda, and Megan Miley; nephews, Kenny Suzzanne Bower, and James Miley; grandnieces, Alexis Kellner, Emberlyn Miley, and Brendel Bower; and several special girlfriends. She was preceded in death by Lawrence Thrush; her father, James W. Miley; grandmother, Rhoda Shepherd; and several uncles. The family would like to extend special thanks to Mansfield Ambulance Service and the OSU Emergency Department and Medical ICU staff.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield conducted by Pastor Brian Phillips. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
