Juanita Boyd, 96, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 25, 2023, after a long and full life. She was very loved and will be missed terribly by all who knew her. She was blessed with great health, a great sense of humor, and countless friends and family members. A long time Mansfield resident, she was born on February 22, 1927 in Tazwell County, Virginia to Bess and William Compton.
Juanita retired from Therm-O-Disc in Mansfield. She attended church at Westwood Alliance and Mansfield Baptist Temple. Juanita was one of the kindest souls and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 60 years, George Q. Boyd on November 7, 2007; two sons, Larry H. Boyd on October 1, 1998 and Michael W. Boyd on September 24, 2001; and siblings, Ershel Compton and Alma Jean Smith both of Virginia.
She is survived by her two sons, Gary (Judy) Boyd of Mansfield and Keith (Dena) Boyd of Westerville; grandchildren, Brian (Colleen) Boyd of Johnstown, Derek (Deanna) Boyd of Wooster, Jonathan Boyd and Dillon Boyd of New Albany, and Casey (Meghan) Boyd of Westerville; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Emily Boyd of Wooster; brother, Connell Compton of Virginia; brother-in-law, Donnie Smith of Raven, Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family graveside and memorial service will be held for the family. Juanita will be laid to rest beside her husband and two sons in Mansfield Memorial Park. Juanita was a lifetime animal lover. In lieu of flowers, which she loved, please feel free to donate in her name to your local animal shelter.
