James 'Jim' R. Ward, 72, of Mansfield, died Saturday, September 15, 2007, at Med Central Mansfield. Born October 20, 1934, in Mansfield, he was the son of Glen and Margaret Frontz Ward. He retired from Armco Steel as a tow motor operator. He enjoyed fishing, Madison sports and was a big Ohio State fan.
Surviving are his wife, Evalene Weigler Ward; three daughters, Sherri Ward-Clifton of Mansfield, Kim Ward of Mansfield, Tammy Ward-Topolosky of Pennsylvania; three stepchildren, Thomas P. Auflick of Mansfield, Terry P. Auflick of Indiana, Janet C. Auflick Schlupp of Mansfield; grandchildren, PFC Gerald J.J. Ward, Marine Corps, CA, Dieha Ward Lucas, Brittany Ward, Aaron Clifton, Tyler Ward, Tommy, Heidi, Josh, Chris, Joe, Tracy Auflick, Michael Schlupp, Christina Schlupp Bland; numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Mabry; four brothers Glen, Jay, Fred, and Terry Ward all of Mansfield; numerous nieces and nephews; special cousin, Maxine Sipe; and many special friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Julia Ward; Son, Michael Ward; brother, David E. Ward.
Friends may call Monday September 17, 2007 from 6-9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18, conducted by Pastor David Parsons. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
