Jack M. Kelley

Jack was a 1967 graduate of Ashland High School. He was drafted into the United States Army and served from 1968-1970. Jack was employed at National Latex from 1967-1997, and then went to work at Hospira, formerly called Abbott, from March 1997 until they closed. He was a music enthusiast with a vast knowledge of music. He used this knowledge to open his first record store, Music Revival Unlimited, in the early 1970's. When Hospira closed he wanted to go back to his true passion and opened Kelley's Vinyl Records, both of which he was very proud of. He had many talents, one being an auctioneer under Bill Stepp, who he admired. A true historian, both locally and nationally, he loved obtaining new historical knowledge. With a love for sports his whole life, he was involved with the Ashland Sports Hall of Fame, and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.

He is survived by his wife of ten years, Karen (Stuart) Kelley; son, Donovan Kelley; step-children, Mark Shire and Leah Beth Shire; seven step-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; sister, Pat (Kelley) (Rick) Dougherty; brother, Brad (Sharon) Kelley; four nieces and nephews, Kelley (Scott) VanGilder, Maria, Andrew, and Anna Kelley; two great nieces, Emilee and Aubree VanGilder; and his beloved cat, Annie. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Bruce Kelley.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Ave. from 5:00-7:00 pm. Pastor Brad Kelley will officiate the funeral service at the funeral home on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11:00 am. He will be laid to rest at a later date in Ashland County Memorial Park with military honors.
