Esther Marie Cook, 90, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Born May 27, 1928 in Pleasant Grove, Ohio, she was the daughter of Grover and Marjorie (Murdoch) Pasco.
Esther was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and Bowling Green University. She taught Home Economics at Union Hill High School before it became Crestview High School. She also worked at Westinghouse and The Center in the kitchen for 18 years. She attended First Christian Church and was an avid animal lover. Esther loved sports and following the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Esther was a very loving, hardworking and generous person who welcomed anyone into her home and never had an unkind word to say about anyone. Her granddaughters loved staying at her home on Saturdays as she would always make them breakfast on Sunday morning before church ~ scrambled eggs being their favorite. Esther always had Sunday dinner at her house.
She is survived by two children, Philip Cook and Susan (James) Chelski; grandchildren, Quinton (Brittney) Cook, Candace (Tim) Watterson, Benjamin (Jen) Holmes, Carole Ann (Adam) Levering, Ashley Hale and Charles Cook; and great grandchildren, Aaria Tackett, Zachary Dayton Holmes, Jordyn Watterson, Emily Watterson, Skylar Sanchez, Kayla Levering, Brandon Levering and Anderson Pepper.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Conrad Dayton Cook; a daughter, Marla Cook; and a great grandson, Logan Matthew Cook.
There will be no services at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
