Don retired from Westinghouse, and had worked for Janitor Maintenance working at Hardee's. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. A collector of Indians and clowns, Don was always looking to add to his collection. He had a love for animals, especially dogs. Often you could find Don relaxing while smoking his pipe.
Don leaves behind his beloved daughter, Ruth (Eddie) Johnson; granddaughter, Sarina (Donald) Collins; two great-granddaughters, Courtney and Alexis Collins; and special friends, Nancy Barker and Earl Salyers. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Mary Louise (Brown) Hipsher; and a daughter, Linda Hipsher.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bluegrass Care Navigators Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
