Bettyann B. Welch

Bettyann B. Welch, 87, of Ashland, passed away to her eternal home on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. She was born on October 9, 1930 in Mansfield, Ohio. Bettyann was the daughter of Daniel and Sophia (Pascheilich) Gregory.

Betty was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, class of 1948, and attended Ashland College. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Brodrick Data Systems, Tacy Medical, Myers Pumps, Gilbert's Furniture and the Garber Company. Her calling in life was loving and raising her three children and she poured her love into her seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Bettyann attended the First Presbyterian Church of Ashland.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Perry (Regina) Welch of Ashland and Jeffrey Dean Welch of Jeromesville; daughter, Linda Kay (Dave) Tacy of Wake Forest, NC; grandchildren, Jennifer and Darren Hunt, Rich and Katie Welch, Mandy and Andy Morgan, Justin and Lindsey Garn, Josh and Kristin Garn, David Gregory Tacy, and Elizabeth Ann Tacy; great-grandchildren, Brennen, Chase and Ryanne Hunt, Morgan Welch, Angel Chapman, Michael Welch, Taylor, Ally, and Brooklyn Morgan, Kylie and Rowyn Garn, and Dawson Riley; and her much loved nieces, nephews and their children. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Richard Dean Welch in 1976 after 27 years of marriage.

Bettyann's wishes have been honored with a simple graveside service at the Ashland County Memorial Park. The family will then celebrate her life with friends and family at a later date. It is most fitting due to her love of all children that in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Akron Children's Hospital, Attention Volunteer Services, One Perkins Square, Akron, Ohio 44308. The Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the Welch family.
