William R. Tyger

William "Bill" R. Tyger, born on March 27, 1946, in Neptune, New Jersey, passed away peacefully with family by his side on December 19, 2024. Bill was 78 years old. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Mary, who predeceased him and with whom he shared a deep love, and his daughter, Corrine Ann.

Bill proudly served his country as a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Marine Corps. Earning the rank of Lance Corporal as a 0311 Rifleman, he exemplified courage and dedication during his service. His time in the Marines was a source of immense pride and reflected his unwavering toughness.

An avid outdoorsman, Bill found great joy in freshwater bass fishing, hunting, boating, camping, and off-roading. His love for bass fishing was evident in everything he did; he served as President of both the Arizona B.A.S.S. Nation and the New Jersey B.A.S.S. Nation. Bill competed in numerous bass tournaments across the United States-from Vermont to Arkansas to California-amassing an impressive collection of plaques and trophies that reflected his skill and dedication to the sport.

Beyond fishing, Bill enjoyed stock car auto racing and had a lifelong passion for cars. This passion led him to restore early Ford Broncos and boats and to work for many years as an automotive parts specialist. His hands-on craftsmanship and love for adventure were defining aspects of his life that brought him happiness and fulfillment.

Bill is survived by his sister, Eileen Carlson; his children, Christine Bruno (and her partner, Shawn), Richard Tyger, and Donald Ahart Jr. (and his wife, Kimberly); his cherished grandchildren, Corey, Avery, Courtney, Austen, and Juliette. He will be deeply missed by his family, many close friends, and all who knew and loved him.

A viewing for Bill will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, located at 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester Township, NJ 08759. A funeral service will commence at 7:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to The Wounded Warrior Project in Bill's name. This cause was close to Bill's heart, as he participated in several Wounded Warrior Bass Fishing tournaments that provided wounded veterans with meaningful outdoor experiences. https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org
