Dr. Peter N. Polidoro, 84, was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey in 1937 and grew up in Kenilworth. Following his marriage to Dorothy, Peter resided in South Orange until his retirement when he moved to Manchester. Peter graduated from Jonathan Dayton regional High School. He went on to receive his B.S. in Elementary Education and his master's in Administration from Newark State Teacher's College; now Kean University. He received his Doctorate in Education from Seton Hall University. He was a member of Kappa Delta Phi and Association of Curriculum Supervisors. He worked as an elementary teacher in Livingston and Newark until becoming a principal in South River and then in Seaside Park. Peter's main career in education was as a State monitor for the New Jersey State Department of Education. Following retirement he worked as a principal at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Maplewood and St. Catherine's Elementary School in Hillside. He enjoyed cruising for vacations, traveling, playing bocce in the Renaissance community, the casino's in A.C. and time spent in Cape May. He loved holiday time with the family and trips to NYC to see the shows. He was a dedicated educator to his students who called him, "Doc." Peter is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy, his three children Peter C. Polidoro, Matthew S. Polidoro and Jennifer Lindenmayer and her husband, Oliver. His five grandchildren, Alexandra, Peter, Owen, Zachary and Ava. A visitation for Peter will be held on Saturday, December 18th, 2021 from 9 am to 9:45 am at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd., Manchester, NJ 08759. A service will immediately follow at the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Manchester, 2309 Route 70, in Manchester, NJ. Entombment will follow the service at Ocean County Memorial Park, 1722 Silverton Rd., Toms River, NJ. Condolences and tributes' can be left for the family on this website.
