Mary P. Lindsay, 87, of Manchester, NJ, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2022, at the Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. Born in Glen Ridge, Mary grew up in Verona, where she graduated High School, then lived in Brick and Jackson before moving to Manchester in 2004. Mary worked for several years as a school bus driver for the Jackson Board of Education. Christmas was her day, having a tree up all year long. She loved to cook and to see her grandchildren together. Mary was very sports oriented, and was always in the stands, first for her children and then for her grandchildren, cheering them on. She also enjoyed playing fantasy football with her family and went by the appropriate handle of Hail Mary. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Paul Lindsay, Sr., her son in law, Raymond Hosford, her parents, Mary and Anthony Pomponio, and her sister, Barbara Hall and Lois Riddel. She is survived by her children; June L. Hosford of Jackson, Paul Lindsay, Jr. of Manchester, NJ, and John Lindsay and his wife Maureen of West Milford, her brother James Pomponio, her grandchildren; Stephanie Molner and her husband Michael, Steven Lindsay and his wife Caroline, and Samantha Hosford and her great grandson James Lindsay.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759, on Friday January 7, 2022, from 2-6 pm and on Saturday January 8, 2022, from 8:30-9:30 am, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered at 10 am at St. John’s RC Church, 619 Chestnut Street, Lakehurst, NJ 08733. Interment to follow at the Ocean County Memorial Park, 1722 Silverton Road, Toms River, NJ 08753.
