Linda M. Marquis

Linda was born in Weehawken, NJ on July 19, 1947. She moved to Colonia, NJ, as a child and attended public school 2 & 16, Iselin Jr High, John F. Kennedy HS and was a member of the National Honor Society.

She met her husband Jim while teaching swimming at the local YMCA and they were married within a years time.

Linda & Jim were married on August 10, 1968 in St. John Vianney’s Church in Colonia.

Both attended Kean University and graduated with a major in Elementary Education. Linda worked for the Metuchen School District for 27 years and loved teaching math and science.

Linda enjoyed dancing as her and husband became avid square dancers in their early years of marriage.

She and her husband moved to the Renaissance in Manchester 19 years ago and joined numerous clubs. She loved to read, travel, bowl and take cruises with the family.

Her favorite vacation spot in the winter was Orlando. That’s where her son and daughter also lived.

Linda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always there in time of need and her warm smile and bright blue eyes permeated the room where ever she was.

Linda was predeceased by her father & mother Harry & Helen Leathem of Colonia.

Surviving are her husband James, her daughters, Lisa Bonnin, Diane Brennan, son in law Mike Brennan & son James M. Marquis & daughter in law Renae Marquis.

She has eight grandchildren Brittney & Dylan Bonnin of FL, Michael, Riley & Bridget of Manasquan, Hunter & Gavin Marquis & Zack Bower of Florida.

Linda is also survived by her sister & brother in law Jean & Bill Stevens of Colonia, brother & sister in law James & Lee Leathem of Colonia, & brother & sister in law Bill & Carla Leathem of Maine and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday May 27, 2022 from 2-5 pm at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd., Manchester, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (Stjude.org)
