
Our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Sir Knight John Ed Ryan.  He was a trusted friend and a loyal brother Knight.  He will be missed.

John has done so much for the industry and took back so little tangibles.   I go back to the early 70's with John and feel that I have learned much from listening to his presentations in small and in large groups.  There are so many memories of John and his wife at our many meetings.  God Bless and remember us from where ever you are.  Paul J. Moriarty

A reliable friend, a strong critic, a sharp wit and a long personal memory from his deep involvement in crafting safety and health codes for decades; all will be missed with fond and lasting affection by the members of North East Building Codes Association, to which he gave endless time and effort as one of the founding members who really cared.

The title of "Godfather" of the code was a reflection of John Ed's good humor and the very true respect he had earned.  In the many code hearings and organizations I have had the priveledge to particpate with John Ed, I can't think of anyone who made a larger and more consistent contribution to building and fire codes.
