Camille J. Zerbo, 86, passed away on October 11, 2022, after a long hospitalization. Born in the Bronx, NY, on December 1, 1935 to Leopold and Anita Zerbo. Camille graduated Evander High School in the Bronx, NY. She lived in Rutherford, NJ, for 35 years before moving to Manchester 18 years ago. Camille had a long and successful career with the Bell System.
Camille and her lifelong partner, Margaret (Peggie) Freeman had 57 years together before Peggie's passing in 2019. They enjoyed many trips to Florida visiting friends and family and fulfilled Camille's long time dream of going to Sicily, Italy to see where her ancestors came from. Their many friends enjoyed dinner parties they hosted through the years, and especially, Peggie's famous corned beef and cabbage dinners on St. Patrick's Day.
Camille's sister, Marie Sarubbi passed away in 2013. Her sister Loretta Romanello lives in Florida with her family. She leaves several nephews and a niece.
A visitation for Camille will be held Friday, October 14, 2022 from 10 to 11:30 am, at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759. Following the visitation will be a Mass of Christian burial from 12:00 to 12:45 pm, at St. John's RC Church, 619 Chestnut Street, Lakehurst, NJ 08733.
In lieu of flowers donation can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Camille' Zerbo's name.
