Charlotte Richardson, 88, of Manchester died July 3, 2013 at Mount Carmel Healthcare Center after a period of declining health. She was born in Manchester on October 29, 1924 the daughter of Patrick and Mary Ellen (O’Hara) Griffin and lived here all of her life.
Charlotte had worked at Arms Textile for 18 years, Velcro USA from 1968 to 1986 and for Elder Planning (now Legacy Financial) from 1996 to 2002. She was a former communicant of Blessed Sacrament parish.
In her younger years, Charlotte loved to bowl and belonged to several Lakeside Lanes bowling leagues. She was an avid reader and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles. Charlotte particularly enjoyed her role as hostess to many family gatherings at her home. Always known as a hard worker, above all else, Charlotte cherished her family. She was pre deceased by her husband, Robert F. Richardson in 1996.
Family members include a daughter, Charlene Lewandowski and her husband John of Manchester; a son Michael Richardson and his wife MaryJane of Cape Cod, MA; four grandchildren, Carrie Lewandowki of Manchester, Griffin Richardson of Brooklyn NY, Tracy Hrycuna of Amherst and Ian Richardson of Plymouth, MA; four great grandchildren, Calli Hrycuna, August Richardson, Ashli Hrycuna and Kinsli Hrycuna; a sister, Helen Ball of Manchester; nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held on Monday, July 8th from 5 to 7 PM in the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech St. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday at 11 AM in the Chapel of Mount Carmel Home, 235 Myrtle St. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
