Born in Brooklyn, NY and formerly of Elmhurst, NY, Shirley started as a bookkeeper for The Welbuilt Company, advancing to Executive Secretary at Tomen America Inc. In between, Shirley worked for Spencer Marketing and as Executive Secretary to the President of Women's American ORT.
Shirley was pre-deceased by her husband, Lester in 2017, who was her soulmate to whom she was married for just shy of 64 years, and her daughter, Elise Laser in 2019. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Craig Richtman, her son-in-law, Alan Laser, her four grandchildren, Jeffrey Laser, Michael Laser, Mitchell Richtman and Hayley Richtman, and her four great-grandchildren, Aurora, Brian, Teresa, and Lillian.
A Graveside Service will be held at 12pm on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Floral Park/Washington Cemetery, 104 Deans Rhode Hall Rd, South Brunswick. Friends and family should meet at the cemetery office around 11:30am for the 12pm service.
Shiva will be observed at Karen and Craig Richtman’s home, 683 Ithaca Place, East Windsor (Twin Rivers) Friday, following the service at the cemetery, Saturday, 6:30-8:30pm with Minyanim at 7pm, Sunday, 2pm-9pm with Minyanim 8pm, Monday-Wednesday, 6:30pm-9pm with Minyanim at 8pm. Donations in Shirley’s memory may be made to Macular Degeneration Foundation, Alzheimer’s Foundation, Beth El Synagogue, East Windsor, NJ or Rossmoor Jewish Congregation, Monroe Township, NJ.
