Rosalie Freidmutter Haber

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Rosalie moved to New Jersey in 1987, first living in Whittingham, then The Ponds and finally at Applewood.

After being a stay-at-home mother, Rosalie had a number of interesting jobs including at a family planning clinic, a car dealership, a dental office, a bridal shop and Landau's in Princeton. In retirement, she traveled the world, touring the wonders of Egypt, Turkey, Russia and other countries that are inaccessible today. Rosalie loved playing tennis and did so until she turned 80. She was naturally curious and loved meeting new people and hearing their stories. Rosalie enjoyed a good poker game, whether at Atlantic City, or Vegas or on a cruise ship at sea.

At 70, her only grandchild Daniel joined the family and Rosalie became an active grandmother taking him on weekend adventures to parks, bagel shops and pizza joints throughout Brooklyn where she grew up. Rosalie believed in celebrating every happy occasion in life and she enfused her family life with joyous birthday, anniversary and graduation parties. She got pleasure out of life up to the end. Rosalie enjoyed riding her mobility scooter on the grounds of Applewood, feeling the wind in her hair.

Rosalie was predeceased by her husband, David Freidmutter, in 1977 and her second husband, Abraham Morton Haber, in 2015.

She is survived by her four children: her daughter Cindy Freidmutter of Brooklyn NY, her daughter Jill Freidmutter (partner Kathy Luz Herrera) of Ithaca NY, her daughter, Debbie Haber (fiance Marc Deitch) of Brooklyn NY and Princeton NJ, her son Steven Freidmutter, of Ithaca NY, and her grandson Daniel Freidmutter of Brooklyn NY.

A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Monday, March 20, 2023 at New Montefiore Cemetery, 1180 Wellwood Ave, West Babylon, NY.
