He is survived by his adoring daughter Bonnie-Jill and son-in-law/best friend David, as well as his partner, Lorrie and many loving friends, including Jean, Michael, Maureen and Debbie.
Mark was a VIP listee with Marquis Who's Who, and had been prominently featured in their publications in Entertainment and Emerging Leaders in America for 36 years. He had won their prestigious Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement award twice for outstanding contributions in music and music education.
Mark was a master pianist, speed guitarist and saxophonist, as well as an arranger, composer, performer, songwriter and illustrator. Mark authored and published 12 musical theory instructional books. He was also director and owner of the Mark Edan School of Music in Brooklyn, New York.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mark graduated with a BA/MA in Music and Education from Brooklyn College. He was a member of the Associated Musicians of Greater New York.
Mark was an Army veteran with certifications in CBR School, The American Red Cross Instructor's Certification in First Aid and hand-to-hand Judo combat certification.
He was also an avid animal lover and animal rescuer.
Mark Edan's music will live on forever through his daughter and loved ones, as well as all of the many students he had taught throughout the years who revered him and will forever remember his incredible, incomparable talent and unique instruction style.
