Born in Brooklyn, she resided there before settling in the Leisure Village East community of Lakewood in 1990.
Prior to primarily taking care of her family, she worked as an administrative assistant at various different companies. Charlotte graduated Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn at 16 as Valedictorian. She went on to Brooklyn College for two years before she married her husband, Lenny, in 1951. They enjoyed 56 years of marriage before he predeceased her in 2007. An avid reader, she was well versed in current events, classic movies, and was always the first to engage in discussion or debate. She was also a pioneer in health foods - making suggestions for her family and friends to help them better their lives. Most of all, her family came first. She kept stories, memories, and traditions alive and recorded her family's history. She loved her family more than anything in the world and she will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her children: Steve Wilensky and his wife Lynda, Diane Feldler and her husband Michael, and David Wilensky and his wife Suzie; 8 grandchildren: Howard, Danny, Joshua, Travis, Alexandra, Jaclyn, Jonathan, and Julian; 5 great-grandchildren: Landon, Drew, Leo, Zoe, and Ariyah; her brother, Edward Bigman and his wife Anita; her sister-in-law, Sandra Montaigne; and her niece and nephews: Jody, Dennis, and Bruce.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 1PM at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood. Interment will immediately follow at Beth Olam Memorial Park, Lakewood.
Memorial contributions may be made in Charlotte's name to the American Cancer Society.
