In Carol’s younger years, she worked as a seamstress in Brooklyn, New York. Throughout her life she was always "the go to" for her family when clothing needed mending or altering.
She was an avid gardener. She loved her flowers and could successfully grow a showcase of them in any strip of dirt among concrete.
She was a 5-star chef with a book of recipes that resided mostly in her head. She made legendary chicken soup and perogies that none of us could duplicate.
She was a nurturer. Children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 4-legged grandchildren were fortunate enough to know her and be loved by their beloved Babby.
She was a loving wife and homemaker, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health.
Carol was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Leon Plac, as well as brother Jan Sas.
Surviving are her daughter, Hanna Parisi and her husband Tom, her son, Steve Plac and his wife, Arete, 5 grandchildren; Lisa, Steven, Ashley, Gregory and Dylan, and 3 great-grandchildren: Arlo, Leo and Jonathan.
A funeral service will be held Friday, July 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, New Jersey 07726. Entombment will follow at 2:30pm at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery, Route 79, Marlboro, New Jersey 07746.
