He is survived by his loving wife Joan (59 years), son David Caldarella, daughter Christine Caldarella English, son in law Daniel English, grandson Timothy English, and Granddaughters Isabella English and Sabrina English, of Manahawkin. His brother Victor and Arlene Caldarella, of Barnegat.
Vincent is predeceased by his parents Jack and Mildred Caldarella and in-laws Joseph and Grace Rocha.
Vincent was a graduate of Hackensack High School in 1957 and served as a NJ National Guardsman. He went to work for the Daily News in NY and attended Merchants and Bankers Institute in NY. He was certified as a shorthand reporter and became a partner at Roberts, Walsh, DeSimone & Caldarella in Newark. In 1972, Vincent established his own company, V.A. Caldarella & Associates in Hackensack where his wife Joan worked with him. He was active in many local, county and state organizations throughout his life. He served a term as President of the NJ certified Shorthand Reporters. He was a member of the Hackensack Housing Authority Association, Commissioner of the Bergen Board of Elections and served as director on the Board for the Bergen County YMCA. In 1985, Governor Thomas Kean appointed Vincent Coordinator of the Hackensack Meadowlands Food Distribution Center.
Vincent’s faith was very important to him, and he served as Director on the Board for St. Francis Community Center, LBI.
In 1993, Vincent left the court reporting business and moved his family full-time to Ship Bottom where his family enjoyed summers and weekends throughout the year since 1969 where many memories were made with family and friends. In 2003, Vincent and Joan moved to Fawn Lakes in Manahawkin.
Vincent was loved by everyone and will be sorely missed by all. Donations can be made in his honor to: St. Francis of Assisi (LBI) Food Pantry and David’s Dream & Believe Cancer Foundation.
A Memorial visitation will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, June 29 with a Mass to follow at 12:00pm at St. Francis of Assisi, Long Beach Blvd., Brant Beach, NJ.
