Patrick is survived by his parents, James and Denise (Adair), a sister, Kathleen Henderson (Taylor), and brothers Dennis and Reilly Harrington, as well as a nephew Colin Henderson. He is also survived by his paternal grandparents, James and Sally Harrington of Cranford, NJ. He was pre-deceased by his maternal grandparents, Barry and Patricia Adair of Ship Bottom. Patrick was fortunate to have many aunts, uncles and cousins in his life who will miss him dearly.
A 2007 graduate of Southern Regional High School, Pat also earned his Associates Degree from Ocean County College.
Patrick was a beloved member of the Long Beach Island surfing community and an annual participant in the Jetty Clam Jam, reaching the finals in 2011. No matter which round was his last, he loved each moment of the day. He checked the waves each and every day, happy to see the ocean but happiest when there were waves.
He spent many summers as a member of the Ship Bottom Beach Patrol before being employed at Country Corner Farm Market, a family business. He spent many of his winter months traveling for surf and snowboard adventures with some of his loyal tribe and always shared stories of the trips.
Patrick was an avid fan of all sports and spent many fall weekends rooting for his beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish and New York Giants. Pat always found time to see his favorite bands with friends at venues big or small.
Pat showed his true strength and character when he was diagnosed with lymphoma in June 2019. He refused to let his diagnosis define him and he worked to get well each and every day. But his gentle manner and willingness to befriend people was truly his legacy and his diverse cross-section of friends is certainly testament to that.
