Born in Garfield, New Jersey, he lived in Clifton until 1976 when he moved to Hanover, Pennsylvania for 10 years, before moving to Lavallette New Jersey. He then retired to Madeira Beach, Florida. After his wife passed, he then remarried to Shirley Mineo and lived in Osprey, Florida, before moving to Georgia.
He was employed by Melville Corp., New York, for 25 years where he was a vice president of real estate, leaving them in 1976. He then joined Hanover Shoes, then changed to C&J Clark, as vice president of real estate. He was a consultant for C&J Clark and Federated Department Stores before his retirement in 1989.
He was preceded in death by his wife Florence Nikovits Bigos, and his two sisters, Rose DeMaria of Rochelle Park, New Jersey, and Mary LaPierre of Seminole, Florida.
Surviving are his 6 children: two daughters, Joanne Rinkerman of Toms River, New Jersey, and Carol Neary of Redmond, Oregon. Also 4 sons, Thomas of Scotia, New York, James of Milton, Delaware, Joseph R. of Lewes, Delaware, and Robert of Largo, Florida. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hillard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ on Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 1:00pm-3:00pm with a prayer service to be held at 2:30pm.
