John is survived by his three loving children, Michael, Amy, and John, his daughter-in-law Jill, and two granddaughters, Nora and Lila. John also leaves behind his mother, Marjorie “Midge” Schratz Millicker, his sisters Mary, Betsey, Jeanne, and Kelly and brother Michael. John was pre-deceased by his father John “Jack” Schratz.
John grew up in Mahopac, NY, and spent his childhood vacationing in LBI. He moved to the Jersey Shore in the 80’s and spent most his life in Barnegat. He loved the beach and was a die-hard Yankees fan. He was a music enthusiast and an avid Beatles lover who enjoyed reading about history and loved to spend time with his family.
There will be a memorial gathering on Sunday December 10th from 11-2 at Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ with a luncheon to follow.
