

Born in Elizabeth, NJ, she formerly resided in Rahway and Clark before moving to Manahawkin in 1995.
Joan loved her family and friends dearly and cherished the time she got to spend with them. She loved to dance and sing and would do so any chance she could. Joan sang in the choir at the First Presbyterian Church in Tuckerton, NJ for many years.
After retiring from her own typesetting company, Joan continued filling her time by being involved in her church, community, and as part of the reunion committee for Battin High School Class of 1949. Joan also loved to cook. One of her fondest traditions was making homemade pierogis with her family for Good Friday and Easter.
Joan was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Joseph Atrashewski Jr., and her daughter Linda Fitzgerald.
Surviving is her son Joseph Atrashewski III and his wife Cynthia, son-in-law Richard FItzgerald, grandchildren Megan Fitzgerald and her husband Sean Carlin, Ryan Fitzgerald and his fiancé Liz, Nicole and Jenna Atrashewski, and two great-grandchildren, Luke and Finn.
Joan is also survived by her sister Carol Venson, and many nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends!
A visitation will be held Monday, December 20, 2021 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin. A Church service will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 10:00am at the First Presbyterian Church, 210 E. Main St. Tuckerton, NJ. Burial will follow at Brig. General William C. Doyle Veteran Cemetery, Provinceline Rd. Wrightstown, NJ
