Bernard J Gaffney Jr.

Bernard Gaffney (Bernie/Butch) was born Jan 26th, 1945 and passed on Dec 24th, 2020. Bernie was a beloved friend and father in the Stafford Township area and is survived by his two sons Patrick Gaffney, Bernard Gaffney Jr.; daughter in law Juliann Gaffney and grandchildren, Gabriella, Amanda and Dominick.

Born and raised in Orange, New Jersey and entered the military service after high school. Upon completion of his military service Bernie moved to Minnesota where he built a life full of love and friendship. He built a career in IT, working with mainframe computers and information storage until returning to New Jersey in 2004. In retirement Bernie worked for Weichert Realty and the Southern Regional School District Transportation department.

When not working Bernie could often be found on the sidelines at a soccer game or courtside at a Southern Regional basketball game watching his son Patrick Gaffney(15) play.

A memorial mass will be held for the immediate family and close friends at 11:00 AM on February 20th, at St Mary of the Pines in Manahawkin NJ. The internment will take place this spring at the Brig. General William C. Doyle Memorial Veteran Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested a donation be made to a trust for Bernie’s son Patrick. The trust will help to establish the life Bernie always dreamed of for Patrick. .
