Red was born in Charleston on September 13, 1939, to the late Hansford and Eula Goff Moles. He was retired from the US Postal Service as Director-Field Operations; he was a US Army Vietnam Veteran and was awarded a Bronze Star and several other service metals. He was a member of Point Lick Gospel Tabernacle and an avid Mountaineer fan and golfer.
Along with his parents, Red was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Moles; sisters, Dorothy Hearn, Norma Gates and Carol Ann Harless; and brothers, Donald, Kenneth and Bubby Moles.
Red is survived by daughter, Debbie Walker of Charleston; sons, Earl L. Moles of N. Myrtle Beach and Danny (Kim) Moles of Tornado; mother of his children, Erma Moles of Charleston; brother, Larry “Allie” Moles of Charleston; grandchildren, Krystal (Jeff) Pennington, Johnathan Walker, Casey (Jonathan) Hughes, Danielle (Josh) Goble and David (Ashley) Moles; six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Point Lick Gospel Tabernacle with Pastor Brian Dean and Bob Brown officiating. Burial with Military Rites will follow at New Antioch Cemetery, Red House.
A visitation with family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service on Thursday at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent to the Veterans Transportation Services through the VA in Huntington, WV.
