Amy Dawn Bowe, of South Charleston, West Virginia, a cherished individual known for her kind, loving, and humorous personality, left us on October 2, 2024. Born March 8, 1968, Amy lived her life to the fullest with grace and dignity.
Amy was preceded in death by her father, Jackie Bowe; stepfather, Donald Edds, who adored Amy from the time he met her as a young child; and Leonard Hager, her companion and best friend of more than fourteen years they shared together.
Amy is survived by her mother, Mary Edds, who will carry her memory and love with her each day; brother, Donovan Edds; sister, Brandy Bowe; special aunt, Martha Green, who helped care for Amy; special lifelong friend, Katheen Huffman; and a host of aunts and cousins.
Amy was a graduate of Charleston High School and Marshall University.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date. As Amy prioritized finding joy in life and sharing it with others, the family asks that you do the same- go out and do something that brings you real joy and share it with those around you. If you feel so moved, reach out and tell us about it- or another joyful time you shared with Amy!
When you hear this verse in the song Broken Wings, think of Amy and sing along:
“Take these broken wings
And learn how to fly again
Learn to live so free
When we hear the voices sing
The book of love will open up and let us in
Take these broken wings”
Amy is now jumping from cloud to cloud in the presence of the Lord with her body free of pain.
