William Curtis Kirkland Sr.

William Curtis Kirkland, Sr., 68, of Madison Heights passed away Tuesday, June 06, 2017, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Naomi Collier Kirkland. Born January 10, 1949, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Rufus Clifton Kirkland and the late Bessie Tyree Kirkland.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Kirkland was preceded in death by five brothers, Roy, Robbie, Kenny Wayne, O.L. and Jeffrey; and one granddaughter, Jessica Rae Kirkland.

Mr. Kirkland is survived by his children, William Curtis Kirkland, Jr. (Heather) and Karen Burks (David), all of Madison Heights; one brother, Jesse Kirkland of Madison Heights; three grandchildren, A.J. Martin (Nacori), Jeffrey Foster (Crystal) and Amity Burks (Bradley); three great grandchildren, Owen Foster, Brayden Silby and Tucker Foster; special nephews and nieces, Keith Kirkland (Wendy), Reggie Kirkland (Celia), Belinda and PNut; and other loving family members and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 9, 2017 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. D. Jack Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Meade Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
