William Thomas “Hoppy” Puckett, 66, of Madison Heights, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at Avante Nursing Home. Born on February 22, 1949, in Lynchburg, he was the son of Ethelene Tolley Puckett and the late William Lacy Puckett.
Hoppy enjoyed working on cars and was a retired painter. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a sister, Vicky Puckett Martin.
Hoppy is survived by his mother, Ethelene Puckett; son, William Shifflett and wife, Helen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2015, at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Dr. Dawn Compton officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
