Shirley Frye Alexander

Born in Henrico County, January 15, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Russell M. Frye and Nellie Burnett Frye.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney C. Alexander; her son, John Daniel “Danny” Alexander; her brother, Russell “Bubba” Frye, Jr.; two sisters, Mildred Fansler and Judy Kay True and one granddaughter, Katy Alexander, and her son-in-law, Jimmy Dillard.

She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Dillard of King William; Tangie Motley and her husband Darryl of Amherst; seven grandchildren, Hunter, Rita and Daniel Alexander, Angela Rook, Travis Dillard, Paul and Alex Motley and twelve great grandchildren.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, as well as a faithful friend. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Whitten Monelison Chapel, 3966 S. Amherst Hwy., Madison Heights with Pastor Steve Esterline officiating.

Interment will follow in Amherst Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
