Lucille Crist Hunter

Born October 15, 1923 in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel William and Annie Coleman Crist and was also preceded in death by a son, F.M. Hunter, Jr.; a son-in-law, David Jennings, 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Mrs. Hunter was a lifelong member of Oakdale Baptist Church, where she was actively involved in the choir and taught Sunday school. She coordinated Meals on Wheels for over 30 years and was recognized for her years of service.

Mrs. Hunter is survived by two daughters, Gloria H. Parnell and husband Stewart of Lynchburg and Vickie H. Jennings of Madison Heights; a daughter-in-law, Rudy Hunter, also of Madison Heights; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, who all affectionately referred to her as Nanny.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Hunter Family Cemetery with The Rev. Dr. Duane Carmody officiating.
