Coach Thomas was a great man who cared deeply about helping others.   I enjoyed our time together at ACHS, but more about hearing him tell stories and give updates about Mason and his family.  He will be greatly missed.

Hi, I was a student student of Mr. Thomas and he has impacted my life in so many ways.
Mr. Thomas was the one who pulled me into archery, which is now my passion. He was there for my first Genius torroment, and my first recurve gold metal.
He pushed me when I needed it and with his help I went so far.
I used to stay late after class to help him load up and just to spend time with him. Sometimes we talked and sometimes we were quiet, either way I would not give up those times for anything in the world.
I will forever miss him and always remember him

Mason , our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  Your Dad was a great guy. I remember him from our high school days and you growing up. He was so proud of you and the fine man you have become.  There are so many good memories for you and the blessings of a loving father.  

My thoughts and prayers for Mr Thomas's family. I had the pleasure of working with him for only one year while working in CES, but I will always remember the way he always had a smile and warm welcome for each child as they departed my bus in the morning when I drove.  Both of my children also loved being in his class, and I had one little girl upset when he was unable to return. She still thinks of him often. He made such a great impact on her life. Again deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers to him family.  

So very sorry for your loss, Mason. . .prayers that God will wrap His loving and comforting arms around you and your family.  A.D. said he saw you on Monday, and called to tell me that Larry was very sick.  We had no idea until then.  Our prayers have been, and will continue to be, with your family.  Hugs to you during this difficult time.


I went to high school with Larry and knew him well.  He was one of the greatest guys ever.  I am so very sorry to hear of his passing.

Mason, I’m deeply sorry for your loss. Larry made a great impact on me and my kids lives. He taught my daughter, my son, and my grandson. They absolutely loved him! My daughter is 27 now and she still remembers how he always made her laugh. He gave me the best advice to me for my children. He truly cared about his students. I worked with Larry at CES in Amherst and he was a dear friend to me. My best memories of Larry is when he drove me, and two other coworkers to visit a haunted asylum in Staunton Virginia. He made us laugh the entire time! He was so hilarious and told the best jokes! In 2016 I had cancer and I had to leave my job. Your Dad remained my friend. He will be truly missed.

We always spent Christmas here in Norfolk Easter was always in Lynchburg and Summers and Winters just depended on who wanted to do the 460 route. But I remember one Christmas we had to share a bed when we were little. And Larry kept saying don't you hear him don't you hear Santa on the roof you hear the reindeer? And I swear we both heard things on the roof. We were both so excited. We snuck out of the bedroom tiptoed down the hall and went into the living room, peeked behind the curtains and we saw all these wrapped presents under the tree, 2 bicycles, Christmas lights everywhere and toys set up, some for him and some for me . There was no sleeping. We laughed and giggled until the sun came up.. 
I miss laughing with you and I can't wait to see you again.  You will always be my big brother.

I am so sorry for the loss of your dad.  He was a good man. 
We use to have a blast in the HDG days and his laughter would crack us up.  Fun times at Wildwood and all the festivals and competitions we would go to.  Your dad always carrying speakers or some kind of tech stuff, CD and T-shirt boxes.   He will be missed but his spirit will always be close to you and his grandkids.

This is such a shock, saw him sitting on his porch not long ago  We are sending thoughts & prayers to all of you at this sad time.  He will deeply missed.  Larry  & Keith grew up together on Amelon Rd.   RIP, Larry until we meet again.

I was so sorry to hear about Larry. I enjoyed working with him at Amelon. Mason, please know that I'm thinking of you and your family.

While umpiring a softball game, probably 45 years ago, I called Larry out, on a slide to home plate. Larry questioned my call, in the strongest of terms. I simply said, Larry, if you can even touch home plate, from where you are sitting, I’ll reverse my call. His slide was at least 10 feet short of the plate! It was hilarious. RIP Larry, you will definitely be missed!

So sorry to hear of your loss. It’s very hard to loose your father at such a young age. I remember your Dad well from Wildwood. He was always with your band, supporting your music.

I’ve known Mr. Thomas from elementary school, all the way to high school. He was a stern but fair man; he took no lip. He was a considerable role model for myself and many others. My condolences to his family and friends during this time.

I am so sorry to learn of Larry's passing. Larry loved our youth and enjoyed coaching. He coached my daughter in high school.  He was so proud of his son Mson and loved him so much. He cherished his grandson and was so proud of him. Sending prayers for comfort to the family during this difficult time.
