Joan Gallaher Bryant

Joan Gallaher Bryant, 84, of Madison Heights, died Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at the Virginia Baptist Hospital. She is the widow of Herbert Bryant. Born in Statesville, N.C., she is the daughter of the late F. W. Gallaher and the late Mary M. Gallaher. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael H. Bryant. Joan is a retired employee from General Electric Corp. and is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia B. Gallaher of Madison Heights and Jeanette B. Braford of Monroe; one sister, Helen Gallaher of Baltimore, MD; thirteen grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 110 Melinda Dr., Lynchburg, VA 24502. Interment will follow in Briarwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, November 2, 2015, at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
