Brittni Starr Coffey, 17, of Madison Heights, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Lynchburg General Hospital from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Born September 14, 1994 in Lynchburg, Brittni was in her senior year at Amherst County High School, where she was a member of the Amerechoes, Belles of Amherst, Pause and Listen, and the Amherst County 4-H Club. She was a hostess at Chi Chan’s Japanese Bistro. Brittni was a member of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church in Lynchburg.
Brittni is survived by her parents, Bill and Lori Mason of Madison Heights; brothers and sisters, Jeremy Ware (Kristal), Tricia Tyree and husband Brandon, all of Madison Heights, Lauren Butler and husband B.J. of Bedford, Brittany Jones of Concord, Skyler Ayres of Richmond, Jacob Johnson, and Kaleb Biggs; grandparents, Linwood Coffey and wife Maxine, June Coffey (Richard Ayres), and G.W. and JoAnne Bass; Brittni’s biological parents, Robert Wood Coffey and wife Diane of Richmond and Brooke Bass Camden of Rustburg; two aunts, Tracy Garrett and husband Mike of Douglasville, GA and Nikki Crist and husband Lee; a great-uncle, Sonny Roberts and wife, Cindy of Forest and three nieces, Alexis Knowles, Brianna Ware, and Jaycie Tyree and many special friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Randy Bower officiating. Interment will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Whitten Monelison Chapel and other times at the residence.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Amherst County High School Choral Dept. or the Amherst County 4-H Club.
