Barbara Michalski McMillan, 83, of Amherst passed away peacefully in Bedford Hospice, Monday, March 20, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Walter Paul Michalski and Bernice Gulan Michalski.
Born August 26, 1939 in Chicago Illinois, Barbara was a registered nurse for many years at the Central Virginia Training Center and also worked as a nursing volunteer after her retirement. She loved her memories of her dedication to nursing. Barbara was a member of Blue Ridge Community Church New London. She loved to travel the country by any means she could.
Twice married she was preceded in death by her first husband Thomas McMillan, and her second husband Paul McMillan.
Left to cherish Barbara’s memory is her son Walter McMillan and his wife Kathy; her step-daughter Paula Forrest and her husband Glenn; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Bedford Hospice House for all their love and care.
