Albert Eugene Granger

Albert Eugene Granger, 86, of Amherst passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Jean Woody-Granger.
Born in Boston, MA, December 15, 1931, he was the son of the late Albert James Granger and Ethel Bolger Granger. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War and was honorably discharged after being 100% permanently disabled due to his service connected disabilities. He was a member of the American Legion Post 16 and Clifford Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step daughter, Susan Woody Rosser and her husband John; six step granddaughters, Sarah R. Bostwick and her husband Jacob, Emily Jean Rosser, Willow Mikles, Nicki Woody Carroll and her husband Ryan, Shelby J. Woody and Hannah Golden Podrabsky and her husband Joey and five step great grandchildren, Scarlett Victoria Bostwick, Cole, Wyatt and Lillian Grace Carroll and Thomas Podrabsky.
He was preceded in death by one step son, William D. Woody, Jr.
A service celebrating his life will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Michael R. Fitzgerald officiating. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 16.
The family will receive friends following the service until 8:30 p.m.
