Tammy was born with her twin sister Tina on April 1st, 1972 in Royal Oak Michigan to Gary and Kathryn Epperson. Tammy attended Madison High School and graduated in 1990. She received her B.A. in Elementary Education from Wayne State University in 1997. She then obtained her M.A. in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College in 2001.
Tammy's teaching career (Ms. Berry) spanned over 26 years beginning at Memphis Community Schools in Macomb County MI. She then proceeded to teach the majority of her career at Lapeer Community Schools. She had a passion for teaching children how to read and motivated them to become lifelong learners. Her creativity and caring nature is what her students took away from her classroom.
Tammy, our warrior, had an unwavering faith in God, a big caring heart for others, and lived by the mottos, "Faith over fear" and "Never give up." She had a zest for life and lived with no regrets. She frequently said "I'm Living My Best Life" even through her battle with cancer. She had many hobbies which included traveling far and wide, motorcycling, boating, camping, cooking, hiking and most of all, spending time with her friends and family. Family was incredibly important to Tammy, especially her one and only daughter, Julia, who fought her battle with cancer right along side of her until the very end.
Some of Tammy's absolute favorite places to travel were Disney World, Sturgis, Cedar Point, Cancun, Boston, Nashville, Traverse City and Mackinac Island. Despite having cancer, she never let it stop her from seeing the world and truly living life to the fullest.
