Dolores Rogowski, age 88, a resident of Warren, Michigan, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019. Dolores was born on February 15, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in Hamtramck, Michigan. She married Mitchell Rogowski on June 19, 1954, and they were married for over 60 years. Together they raised three beautiful daughters - Marcy, Margie and Marlene. Mitchell preceded her in death in April 2015.
Before marriage, Dolores worked as a secretary at Michigan Bell then at Wheeling Corp. in Detroit. In the early 70s, she began to work at Singer Corp. then as head housekeeper for Red Roof Inn until her retirement in 1992.
Dolores liked to crochet and made over 100 lap blankets over the years to donate to local hospitals. She enjoyed working in her flower garden; entertaining and cooking meals for the family; and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite past-time was shopping. Target, Marshalls and Dollar Tree were her favorites.
She was the adventurous type and loved to learn new things. She took her first airplane flight at the age of 78 to Oregon and began to use a computer at the age of 80. She also used a tablet and a smart phone, even doing a little texting.
Dolores is survived by daughters Marcy (the late Tom) Trepky, Marge (Rex) Ainslie and Marlene (Michael) Klueck; grandchildren Christopher Trepky (Emmarie Huetteman), Marissa (Nicholas) Kostoff, Sean Ainslie, Pamela Klueck, and Kevin (Ashley) Klueck; sister Gertrude Kubicz; brother-in-law Robert Rogowski; sister-in-law Barbara (Roy) Meyer; and great-grandchildren Olivia Kostoff, and Donovan and Juniper Klueck.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre, Madison Heights, Michigan 48071. In State Monday, April 22, 2019 from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at 9:30 a.m., St. Mark Catholic Church, 4401 Bart, Warren, Michigan 48091. Burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Detroit, Michigan.
