Nancy Caldwell Johnson, 88, of Middlefield, beloved wife of the late George Johnson, passed away unexpectantly but peacefully on Friday, December 25, 2020. Nancy was born in Brockton, MA on March 19, 1932 and she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Mildred Lindbom Caldwell.
Nancy earned her BA at Uppsala College in NJ where she met the love of her life, George. She then went on to earn her master’s degree in Education at Western Connecticut State University. She was a Middle School Science Teacher in Monroe and later Ledyard, retiring in 1997. Nancy enjoyed cooking for her family and was very talented when it came to almost any kind of craft. She enjoyed golfing with her family and friends. She traveled extensively with her husband and friends. In her younger years while living in Monroe with her growing family she was active in civic and social groups, but most of all she loved caring and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three children; David Johnson and his wife Lynn of Middlefield, Sarah Trombetta and her husband Robert of Middlefield and Peter Johnson and his wife Donna of Clayton, NC. Six grandchildren, Ivan and Alexis Johnson, David and Lauren Trombetta, and Thomas and Michael Johnson. Burial will be private at the Swedish Cemetery in Portland, CT.
