He was born on May 15, 1969, in New Haven, the son of Dana and Margaret (Reagan) Doyon.
He graduated from Daniel Hand High School in Madison in 1987. He had many different jobs but in 2007 he felt like he "hit the lottery" when he was offered a job as Assistant Conductor for Metro-North Railroad. Over the years his family was lucky as he gave them private tours behind the scenes of Grand Center Station!
Gregory is survived by his wife of 10 years, Fai (Praman) and his cherished daughter, Lyla. After the accident at work, Greg stayed at home and spent countless hours with Lyla at the beach, the park, music class, gymnastics, library. They were inseparable and have a very special bond that will never be broken.
Greg is also survived by his sister, Kathleen (Eric) Duncan of Old Saybrook and his brother Kevin (Darcie) Doyon of Ivoryton. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Liam, Kelsey and Conor Duncan of Old Saybrook and Reagan and Patrick Doyon of Ivoryton. He is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, father and brother, Paul.
Cherished by many friend that have helped him through some ups and downs but they have always been there for each other. Greg lived an adventurous life before he settled down with Fai. He traveled with friends to California, Italy, Thailand and then he and Fai traveled to Vietnam and the Cayman Islands. They made many trips home to Thailand to visit friends and relatives and while there they went to many beaches from Phuket to Phi Phi to Pranburi. He loved the beach wherever he could find one - from Surf Club in Madison to Phuket in Thailand.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday October 3rd from 3-6pm with a service of remembrance beginning at 5pm, at Swan Funeral Home, 825 Boston Post Rd., Madison.
