Eleanor Ann McCarthy

She was born on June 28, 1946, in New Haven, the daughter of the late Warren and Elena Richmond. She grew up in North Branford and was a graduate of North Haven High School.

Eleanor is survived by her children James "Jay" McCarthy and his wife Anne, and Megan McCarthy (Howard Finkel), all of Madison; her sister Beverly Richmond and her husband James Gencarelli of Fort Lee, New Jersey. She is also leaves behind her three grandchildren Anastasia, Jack & Patrick who brought her so much joy and laughter every day.

Eleanor retired from the Town Of Madison Building Department after 30 years of service.

Eleanor was a gentle person, who was kind to everyone she met. She will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her love of life and her sparkling blue eyes.

A funeral service will be held on Monday October 23rd at noon in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 232 Durham Rd., Madison. Calling hours will be held on Monday October 23rd before church from 9am-11am at Swan Funeral Home, 825 Boston Post Rd., Madison. Burial will be private.
