Alice Abbott Mujaes (fondly known as Tatee) was born June 15, 1919, and made her peaceful journey to her Eternal Home on June 22, 2024. She lived a long and full life, but was ready to reunite with her beloved husband Fred, daughter Barbara Meloy, beloved sister Yvonne Shia, and brothers Emil, Fred and Michael Abbott. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters Diane Takao and Claire Shogren, grandchildren Brian Kornatz, Ryan Takao (Genevieve), Kristyn Taylor (Brad), Michael (Ashley) and Melanie Meloy, and 7 great grandchildren.
Alice was active throughout her life. In her early years she played competitive tennis and enjoyed horse back riding and swimming. She loved to ski, and especially enjoyed walking. She became known as the “walking lady” in her hometown, walking 3+ miles daily well into her 80’s. She was also an avid reader and gardener.
Because of her competitive nature, she had a goal of living to be 100 and doing it on her own. She achieved that goal, and was blessed with 5 more years.
A private service was held.
If you would like to honor her memory, please consider making a donation to The National Kidney Foundation or Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT
