William Clyde Turner, Sr., 73, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 2:00pm at Lizella Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Minton officiating. Burial will be private. The family will greet friends from 1:00pm until the service. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Lizella Baptist Church, 2950 S. Lizella Road, Lizella, 31052.
Clyde was born on June 9, 1945 in Macon. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Edwards Lewis; daughter, Tammy Turner and brother, Dennis Lawrence. Clyde worked in construction and owned a trucking company for many years. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army for eleven years, four of those in Vietnam. Clyde was also an Airborne Ranger. He was a member of Lizella Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Rose Ivey Turner; children, Linda Volpe, Clyde Turner, Jr. and Roselyn Thaggard; grandchildren, Alan, Olivia, Tammy, Nicole, Travis, Angela, Chris and Ricky; ten great grandchildren; siblings, Brenda (Jack) Hutchens, Bruce Lawrence, Glen (Christine) Lawrence, Brian Lawrence, Paul (Regina) Turner, Jean Hubbard and Ronny Turner; several step-sisters and brothers; and our faithful employee, Johnny.
