Pastor William Henry Casteel, 89, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 surrounded by his family. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor J. Craig Holmes and Pastor Jim Sowden officiating. The family will greet friends on Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Face mask and social distancing are required to be in attendance. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Gilead Baptist Church.
William was born in Kite, Georgia to the late Arthur Joseph and Eula Downs Casteel. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Steven Michael Dukes. William served his country in the United States Army and Air Force. He worked for State Whole Sale and was a night auditor with Best Western. William was a Pastor for over thirty years and was a member of Gilead Baptist Church. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Mary Frances Meeks Casteel of Macon, GA; children; Vickie (Terry) Smith of Macon, GA; Ann Dukes of Macon, GA; Barbara Taul of Macon, GA; grandchildren; William David Dukes of Macon, GA and Donald Jeremy Taul of Macon, GA; great-granddaughter, Sara-Anne Dukes of Danville, GA; sisters, Ruth Bullard of Cumming, GA, and Ophelia Coleman of Macon, GA and several nieces and nephews.
