Mr. Bill Amos, 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2014, surrounded by family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 26, at 11 o’clock in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Lt. Col. Don Chastain, Ret. Georgia State Patrol, will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 o’clock until service time. Burial will follow the service, in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Amos was born July 1, 1945 in Macon, GA. He attended Lanier High School and graduated from Ft. Lauderdale High. He retired from the United States Air Force, as a communications officer, having served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Amos later worked and retired from the Georgia State Patrol as a communications and dispatch officer. He actively attended Real Life Church on Gray Highway. Bill, known to friends as “Wild Bill,” had a deep passion for guitar, music, and being an entertainer. He prided himself over the smiles he brought to the elderly in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eloise Adamar; a daughter, Terri Rogers, and his beloved poodle, Barkley.
Surviving Mr. Amos is a daughter, Crystal L. Robson of Australia; 3 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
