The Darley family and Day family go back as friends into  the 1940's. Bob Sr taught my 90 year old father, Vernon Darley, Sr,  to fly his Cub and Taylorcraft. 
My late uncle Hal Darley, Delta Pilot retired, was a great friend and helped Bob build his Pitts Special.

 As a young USAF pilot visiting one day, Bob insisted that I could not return to my base until I had flown his Pitts.  With 200 horses it was a treat!

Mrs Day pulled that same trick. She made me fly her Cessna 120. 

Now, I own three planes based at KFFC (Peachtree City, GA) In the hangar next door Bob's yellow Cub is based with it's new owner, J Herrin.

When  your  Granddad was a FAA designated flight examiner, he gave me both my Private and Commercial check rides. He was great to fly with and I went on to be a USAF B-52 pilot and Colonel. On one of those rides, he took control of the airplane and did a spiral down near a house.  It was Sunday, and a bright Sept Sunday morning, and he laughed and said he just wanted to see if your Grandmother had headed out to church!

Ginny was a dear, sweet lady. I always enjoyed her stories when she would visit Aunt Lillian, and Uncle Joe (Pinkerton). I will remember her grin, and gentle disposition. My thoughts, and prayers to you all during this time.

    We are so sorry for the loss of this very Special mother and  grandmother who was loved by all her family and many friends she knew throughout her life.
